Our values of Readiness, Excellence, Courage, and Respect provide the foundation for our mission which is to “provide professional service and compassionate care from our family to yours.” Founded in 1902, WSFR has grown from a volunteer‐only fire department to the current combination system of today. WSFR is a Colorado Special Tax District with an operating budget of over $21 million for 2024.

Covering 100 square miles in Weld and Larimer counties, WSFR provides all-hazards response from three stations with a fourth under construction. We proudly serve and protect the citizens and visitors of our district with a team of over 80 personnel. This includes the operations division, the community risk reduction division, and administrative staff who seamlessly work together for the betterment of our community.

WSFR successfully lowered its ISO rating from a 4 to a 2 in 2016 and in March of 2018, WSFR achieved Internationally Accredited status from the Center for Public Safety Excellence. In March of 2023, WSFR successfully achieved re-accreditation.
